Bayley’s WWE Future Uncertain As Contract Nears Expiry

A recent report provided an update on Bayley’s future with WWE, as her current contract is nearing expiry.

Bayley has been with the WWE since 2013 and has had an amazing run in the company. During her tenure, the Role Model has been a four-time Women’s champion and two-time Women’s tag team champion as well.

In an interview last year, Bayley revealed that she has a year and a half left on her current contract and opened up on new women coming in and potentially taking her spot:

I have so many other things I want to make it into. I have a year and a half left on this current contract, so we’ll see what happens then. [And then what?] Man, I don’t know. I think I’ve done everything I really want to do, not everything. There’s still a lot I want to get done, but done so much with WWE and I’ve been here for already 12 years and there’s a huge wave of women coming in that I think are ready to take over, ready to be in those spots.”

The Role Model also said that she might be done in a couple of years while comparing her situation to John Cena:

So when I think about okay, I might be done in a couple of years, who knows? I know that it’s going to be in good hands. So that makes me really happy. Where before, John Cena always says he couldn’t leave because who was going to do what he does? Who’s going to take his place? Who’s going to be the one to freaking put a**es in seats? Who’s going to be the one that the kids want to see, that the kids idolize to the level that he does? Cody’s doing that.”

Update on Bayley’s WWE contract expiry and future

As Bayley confirmed earlier last year that she has a year and a half left on her current contract, it has been assumed that her contract is set to expire sometime this year.

According to the latest report by WrestleVotes, Bayley’s WWE contract is expiring at the end of this year, and there is no update on whether she has agreed to an extension. The report also stated that the Stamford-based promotion and TKO want to keep the Role Model with the company, as she is seen as a locker room leader.

Only time will tell what the future holds for the former WWE Women’s Champion.
