NXT Stand & Deliver is shaping up to be a really exciting Premium Live Event for the fans to witness, as the first half of the show featured three very interesting matches.

With Sol Ruca getting her win over Zaria, the only non-title match of the show was now in the history books, and the rest of the night could feature some surprises.

The next match on the card was Myles Borne’s defense of his NXT North American Championship against the person who has held that title the most number of times, Johnny Gargano.

Myles Borne retains his NXT North American Championship

Ever since his tag partner left the promotion, Gargano had been a shadow of himself on SmackDown. He won the number one contender’s match for the NA Title by accident after Candice got him into the match as a last resort attempt to bring him back to his former self.

It seemed to have worked as the NXT Universe got the witness Johnny Takeover tonight as he put in a dominant performance against Myles Borne. Gargano pushed the champ to the limit and did everything possible to become a 4-time North American Champion.

Borne didn’t show any signs of giving up, though, as he kicked out of the Widow’s Wail and One Final Beat before escaping from the Gargano Escape. He ultimately retained the title after hitting Gargano with two Borne Agains to get the win.

However, he wasn’t able to celebrate the win for long. Just as he shared a moment of respect with Gargano, he was attacked by Dion Lennox with a steel chair, indicating that he’s going after the NA Title now.
