More WWE Content Heading To ESPN
Sports fans who watch ESPN will be able to see some additional WWE programming.
ESPN became the home of WWE PLEs in the US starting in September 2025 when they aired the first-ever Wrestlepalooza PLE.
The monumental five-year streaming partnership between WWE and ESPN is valued at $1.6 billion over five years, which is $325 million annually. Internationally, Netflix has been the home to WWE PLEs since January 2025.
It has been reported by Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select that the main ESPN broadcast channel will air a condensed version of the 2026 Royal Rumble this Sunday, February 22.
The Royal Rumble PLE aired on ESPN Unlimited in the US on January 31st. The Men’s Royal Rumble winner was Roman Reigns, while Liv Morgan won the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
Roman Reigns Believes WWE Will Get Even Bigger On ESPN
When the WWE deal with ESPN was announced, Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns said WWE would continue to grow by being part of a major sports entity like ESPN.
“We’re just continually trying to get better. We don’t think we’re in our final form at all, and it’s entertainment, so it’s just always evolving. It’s ever-changing. Um, but that’s the type of pressure we like to put on ourselves to be able to team up with an ESPN. We know we have to get better.
We know we have to get bigger. We know we’re going to be reaching a bigger audience. So, I think that’s just without being said, we’re going to make it bigger.”
Roman Reigns has challenged CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 42. While the match is officially announced, it also depends on whether Punk retains his title against Finn Balor at Elimination Chamber on February 28th in Punk’s hometown of Chicago. It would be a surprise if Punk loses to Balor.
