MJF Wants Dream Match With WWE Star, But There’s A Catch

MJF

MJF recently revealed the WWE star with whom he would like a dream match.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman is currently the AEW World Champion and is set to defend his title against Brody King at Grand Slam Australia on February 14.

The two superstars have been feuding since King announced himself as one of the contenders for the championship.

The storyline already had several wrestlers like ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, Swerve Strickland, Kenny Omega, and Andrade El Idolo announcing their contendership.

It led to a few complex angles being set up, one of which included an MJF vs. Brody King match on the February 4 Dynamite episode.

The match was interrupted by Page, causing a distraction for Friedman, who let his guard slip, resulting in him getting caught in a chokehold by King. King secured a pinfall by hitting his Ganzo Bomb on the champion, thus becoming his next challenger.

MJF Names His WWE Dream Match

While recently appearing in Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, MJF was asked about his dream match. He initially named “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, but was asked to name a wrestler who wa alive.

So, he named WWE’s Kevin Owens.

Although he specified that he wanted to wrestle Kevin Steen, Owens’ earlier iteration from Ring of Honor.

I think this answer is going to shock people, because also, I will say I can’t pick people that are retired. John would have been my answer, but he’s retired, so I’m gonna say Kevin Steen.

MJF went on to compare Kevin Owens and Kevin Steen, claiming that while Owens was a good wrestler, he wanted Steen because he did not have any restrictions in ROH.

So I want Kevin Steen. That’s a dream match for me. I think that would probably go down as one of the greatest matches of all time and one of the greatest promos of all time.
