MJF Calls Out “Hack” Mick Foley And “Gross Little Canadian” Chris Jericho

Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) is taking shots at some wrestling legends as he prepares for the biggest match of his career.

At AEW Full Gear this Saturday, November 19th, MJF will challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title. It will be MJF’s second real match in the last six months since his All Out “win” in September saw him not even take a bump as he won the Casino Ladder Match.

The Full Gear match between Moxley and MJF will be close to home for Max since he’s a native of Long Island, New York. The pay-per-view will take place in nearby Newark, New Jersey so it may be a bit of home field advantage for the challenger.

To promote the match with Moxley, MJF did an interview with Newsday, who asked Max to name a Mount Rushmore of Long Island wrestlers, which led to MJF taking a direct shot at WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley.

“The Mount Rushmore of Long Islanders who are professional wrestlers, I just think is me four times. I think Mick Foley is a hack, and it’s really upsetting that I never got to wrestle him — not because it would be a dream come true for me, but just because I really want to punch him in the face and knock him out with my Dynamite diamond ring, and prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I’m the greatest Long Island wrestler that’s ever lived.”

When the interviewer mentioned that current ROH World Champion Chris Jericho was born in Manhasset, New York, MJF took a shot at him too.

“Oh, stop it. You can be born somewhere, but he’s a Canadian. He’s a gross little Canadian.”

While Jericho was indeed born in Manhasset, New York while his dad Ted Irvine was playing in the NHL for the New York Rangers, Jericho did grow up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

As is always the case with MJF, he isn’t afraid to say what’s on his mind while being brash and cocky as usual.

This past Wednesday on the November 16th episode of Dynamite, MJF looked Moxley in the eye and said: “This Saturday at Full Gear, you are going to find out that I am The Devil himself because my name is Maxwell Jacob Friedman and I’m better than you…” while the fans said “and you know it.”
