MJF Calls 12-Time WWE Champion “Fat & Ugly”
MJF minced no words in expressing his thoughts about a 12-time WWE Champion.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman has been in pursuit of a third AEW World Championship, but his road has not been smooth. He is currently up against Darby Allin, who defeated him on the April 15 episode of Dynamite to become the new champion.
Friedman is known for speaking his mind inside the ring and outside of it, regardless of who is against him. His latest jab came at the expense of a WWE Hall of Famer, whom the 30-year-old has likened to Darby Allin.
MJF was recently featured in an interview with Jon Alba, where the question of Mick Foley joining AEW came up. When asked about the idea of seeing the 60-year-old join the Jacksonville-based company, he called the veteran fat and ugly.
I think Mick Foley is fat and he’s ugly, and I think he was the blueprint of what Darby Allin is now, which makes me hate him even more. That’s what I think of Mick Foley.
Mick Foley Met MJF To Discuss Retirement Storyline In AEW
Mick Foley often being used in the same sentence as MJF is not random. There is a brief history that goes back a couple of years in history.
While speaking on an interview with The Wrestling Classic last year, Foley revealed having secret meeting with Maxwell Jacob Friedman, where they discussed a six-week AEW retirement storyline for him.
I had a top secret meeting with MJF about the possibility of having one last match with him, and he laid out like six really solid weeks of storytelling. Two Long Island guys meeting at a steakhouse, and we didn’t even take a photo of the situation, but it was cool.
Foley’s intent to compete in one last wrestling match was aimed at him turning 60 years old. However, after he suffered a concussion while training, the plan for his in-ring return was scrapped.
MJF To Face Darby Allin In A Hair Vs. Title Match At Double Or Nothing
Despite trying several times, Maxwell Jacob Friedman was unsuccessful in securing a return title match against Darby Allin. Allin was adamant that if he was putting his title on the line, Friedman had to defend something as well.
Maxwell offered him his AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring and a million dollars, both of which Allin declined. Instead, he proposed that Friedman put his hair at stake against his World Championship.
While initially reluctant, the 30-year-old superstar agreed. After their contract signing segment last week, MJF viciously attacked Darby Allin, who had just defeated Konosuke Takeshita in a title match.
Double Or Nothing is scheduled to take place on May 24 at Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York.
