Mickie James Responds To NXT Star Wanting To Form Tag Team

Mickie James hasn’t ruled out a return to WWE.

Following NXT Deadline, Fallon Henley made a pitch to James on social media, writing that they should team up to win the Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Mickie James quickly replied, hinting that she’d be up for the idea. Speaking during an appearance on the Gabby AF podcast, the star expanded further on her reply to Henley, adding that if she’s coming back, she’s coming to win.

“She did say the drinks were on her. And I do love a drink as you’re aware. I’ve been watching Fallon for a while because obviously there’s been some comparisons there and there’s clearly similarities there. And I thought, ‘Oh, this is so cool.’ I didn’t obviously think it was an homage to me or anything like that.

There’s clearly more Country girls in the world than just me. But I just thought it was so special and it was unique. And I thought it was cool that she asked me to do that. She said, ‘Go for the titles’. And I just need her to know, I only come to win. I don’t come to lose. So, I’m down. I’m her Huckleberry. But we’re going to win.”

When Did Mickie James Last Wrestle?

Mickie James hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Trinity at IMPACT Wrestling Bound for Glory back in October.

The veteran is currently a free agent after leaving the promotion, although during her most recent spell with the company, she competed without a contract. Her husband Nick Aldis is currently signed to WWE and works as a producer, as well as SmackDown General manager.

James has previously enjoyed two spells with WWE, initially signing with the company back in 2003 and spending two years in developmental before moving to the main roster in October 2005. The star went on to feud with Trish Stratus, and remained with the company until 2010, leaving a five-time Women’s Champion.

The popular star returned to the sports entertainment giant in 2016 after a highly successful spell with IMPACT Wrestling, before being released in 2021.
