Mercedes Mone’s Title Losing Streak Continues In The Indies
In 2026, Mercedes Mone continues to take a step back from her dominant run last year.
At one point in 2025, Mone held as many as 13 championships across different promotions, earning herself the moniker Ultimo Mone to honor Ultimo Dragon’s similar accomplishment in the mid-90s.
On the last day of December, she lost the AEW TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale, sending her into a spiral.
A week later, she announced that she would be taking a break from All Elite Wrestling. Although she did not reveal the length of her time away, she claimed that when she returned, she would come for more than just championships.
After not stepping inside the squared circle for a couple of months, she returned to in-ring competition in March.
In her first bout, Mercedes Mone dropped the CMLL World Women’s Championship to Persephone.
She subsequently lost the Bestya Women’s Championship, EWA Women’s Championship, DW Women’s Championship, and BODYSLAM Women’s Championship.
Mercedes Mone Drops Title In Poland
On March 29, Mercedes Mone competed in Poland at Prime Time Wrestling.
She put the PTW Women’s Championship on the line against Diana Strong. In a shocking turn of events, she suffered another defeat, not only dropping the title but also continuing her winless streak in 2026.
Following her loss, she is now in possession of two titles—the WPW Women’s Championship in Canada and the APAC Women’s Championship in Malaysia. She also holds the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Championship, which is an annual title.
Fans might hope that she finds a solution to return to her winning ways, though she does not have much time. She will defend the WPW Women’s Championship against Jody Threat on March 31.
The 34-year-old superstar recently spoke about her imminent AEW return.
