Mercedes Mone’s singles losing streak in title matches continues.

Mone has already dropped two championships in 2026, first losing the CMLL World Women’s Championship to Persephone on March 6 and the Bestya Women’s Championship to Swan two days later.

On Saturday, she faced Mila Schmidt for the EWA Women’s Championship during BZE Apogee held at Palais des Sports in Dreux, France. In the Title vs. Title match, Schmidt’s Rixe Women’s Championship was also contested.

Following her previous title losses, Mercedes Mone often found herself crashing out and bellowing. However, her demeanor was different this time around.

Standing alongside her opponent, the 34-year-old AEW superstar showed support for women’s wrestling as both of them held a sign aloft that read, “More women in the ring.

Tweeting about her emotions and gestures, fans also praised the former TBS Champion, claiming that her downfall is just a small part of what’s to come when she returns to All Elite Wrestling.

Mercedes, who at one point held 13 titles together, currently has six titles: the Discovery Wrestling Scottish Women’s Championship, the PTW Women’s Championship (Poland), the Bodyslam Women’s Championship (Denmark), the WPW Women’s Championship (Canada), the APAC Women’s Championship (Malaysia), and the 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Championship.

Mercedes Mone Is Taking A Break From AEW

On December 31, 2025, Mercedes Mone lost the AEW TBS Championship, which she had held for 584 days, to Willow Nightingale.

She had lost two other championships in the same month, and there was no question that the TBS title loss weighed heavily on her.

Following her victory, Nightingale invited Mone to her in-ring celebration, but when the former champion came out, she was dressed as if she were in mourning.

Unfortunately, a sequence of events led to her getting faceplanted on a cake held by Kris Statlander.

In a video later shared by AEW, Mercedes Mone claimed that she was tired of being disrespected, and she was taking a break from AEW. She also revealed that when she returned, she would be coming for more than just championships.
