Mercedes Mone’s First AEW Match Confirmed

Mercedes Mone

Mercedes Mone has not wasted much time since joining AEW in revealing just what her goals in the company are as she targets gold.

Mercedes Mone debuted in AEW at Big Business in March 2024 putting an end to the speculation surrounding her future in wrestling. The star formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE has not competed since May 2023 after she suffered a serious injury in a match to crown the inaugural NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion.

Mone’s opponent in that ill-fated match and the woman who beat her to claim that crown just so happens to be AEW star Willow Nightingale. And it looks like Mercedes Mone might well have a chance at revenge sooner than anybody might have thought.

Mercedes Mone Going Double Or Nothing

At Dynasty on April 21st, Willow Nightingale will challenge Julia Hart for the TBS Championship. On Dynamite in Worcester, Nightingale was interviewed by Renee Paquette and she vowed to become the smiling face of TBS by defeating Hart for the title.

That brought out Mercedes Mone who said that it did not matter to her who held the title after Dynasty as she was getting a crack at the winner and that in Vegas, Mone changes everything.

AEW recently revealed that Double Or Nothing will be held in Las Vegas once again on May 26th. If that match proves to be Mercedes Mone’s first in AEW then it will mean she has been on the sidelines for over a year.
