Matt Cardona’s Embarrassing Losing Streak Continues On WWE SmackDown
Beloved WWE superstar Matt Cardona made his long-awaited return to the promotion earlier this year during the first episode of Friday Night SmackDown of the new year.
Cardona had made a one-off appearance towards the end of last year when he appeared during the Last Time is Now tournament. He appeared as Zack Ryder in the tournament and suffered a loss to LA Knight.
He has been calling SmackDown his home ever since debuting as Matt Cardona last month, but he hasn’t had the best of times on the blue brand, with the fan favorite wrestler being buried by Triple H.
Matt Cardona suffers yet another WWE loss
Ever since making his return to the promotion, Cardona hasn’t won a match since his debut. He beat Kit Wilson in his first match back in the WWE, but has since been on a four-match losing run.
He failed to win his number one contender qualification match against Trick Williams last month, before losing to Trick in a dark match on SmackDown. He then suffered a loss at the hands of MFT in a multi-person 10-man tag team match.
His losing streak continued on tonight’s show as he answered Carmelo Hayes’ US Title open challenge, but despite coming close on multiple occasions, he was unable to dethrone the champion.
