Massive Update On CM Punk’s Status For June 21st AEW Dynamite

CM Punk

CM Punk has reportedly arrived at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago ahead of AEW Dynamite.

On June 17th, CM Punk made his return to All Elite Wrestling for the first time since his participation in the now-infamous Brawl after All Out in September. The star opened up the debut episode of Collision with a highly praised promo in which he addressed backstage animosity and even took a thinly-veiled shot at the Young Bucks in a line reportedly approved by AEW management.

In the main event, Punk teamed with FTR to secure a victory over the trio of Jay White, Juice Robinson, and Samoa Joe.

Days later, a report emerged that Punk was scheduled to appear on the June 21st episode of AEW Dynamite, also emanating from his hometown of Chicago. It’s unlikely that Punk and The Elite will appear on the same show, and reports already indicate that Kenny Omega is not planned for a live appearance and any further hype for his Forbidden Door match would come via pre-taped segments.

Hours ahead of the Dynamite broadcast, Bryan Alvarez took to Twitter to report that Punk had arrived at the Wintrust arena, writing:

“Punk is in the building”

Dave Meltzer responded to the report with a quote tweet, making it clear that Punk is indeed scheduled to appear on Dynamite.

“And on the show tonight”

While it’s been reported that the highly-anticipated bout between Punk and longtime rival KENTA is off the table, a new report emerged today that indicates Punk will be facing Satoshi Kojima at Forbidden Door on June 25th.
