Major WWE Raw Plans Changed At Last Minute

It has emerged that a huge title change was expected to happen on WWE Raw.

The main event of the February 19th edition of WWE Raw saw Jey Uso attempt to end Gunther’s record-breaking Intercontinental Championship reign. Uso took the fight to Gunther from the start, but any momentum he was able to build was quickly ended with brutal strikes from the Ring General.

Just when it looked like Jey was going to get the victory with an Uso Splash, he was distracted by his brother Jimmy, who rang the ring bell. Jey took Jimmy out with a Suicide Dive and then attempted another Splash, but Gunther got his knees up and dragged Jey into a pin to retain the title.

After the match, Jimmy continued the assault on his brother and left him lying with multiple Splashes of his own.

According to a new report from WrestleVotes, things could have turned out a lot differently. The social media account has claimed that “multiple people” within WWE thought Jey Uso was due to defeat Gunther and claim the gold, and that it was still the plan just hours before the show went to air. There is currently no word on what caused these plans to change.

“Hearing an interesting story we hope to follow up on with more tomorrow… source states there were multiple people within the company under the impression Jey Uso was winning the IC title tonight on RAW.

“I’m told that as late as 6pm, this was the direction on various show rundowns within the creative and digital departments.”

CM Punk Addresses WWE Fans After Raw Goes Off Air

After the live broadcast of Raw ended, CM Punk embraced Jey Uso before addressing the WWE audience. The star said it was hard sitting backstage watching the show and he wanted to come out to see the 11,000-strong audience.
