Major Celebrity Has “All Kinds Of Heat” With WWE
Not everyone in WWE was happy with one celebrity’s recent impact.
The wrestling world is still reeling from John Cena’s stunning heel turn at Elimination Chamber, questioning what it means for the rest of his retirement tour.
There have also been other questions around the shocking moment, including: Why was Hip Hop star Travis Scott involved in the beatdown?
After Cena delivered his low blow to Cody Rhodes and went to work on beating him from pillar to post, Scott got involved and landed an extremely stiff-looking punch on the World Champion while he was lying on the mat.
Following the event, it was reported that Cody Rhodes suffered an injury in the attack. It’s believed that he was given a black eye and a “busted ear drum,” likely from the shot from Scott while he was lying on the canvas.
While Rhodes later laughed off the incident, it seems people backstage in WWE were doing anything but laughing.
WWE Unimpressed By Travis Scott
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Scott has “all kinds of heat” backstage following the incident. It was noted that he shouldn’t have been in such a high-profile spot in the first place and that while trying to make the punch look good, he got carried away.
Scott also blasted him with a slap to the head. That blow was apparently the one that legit broke Rhodes’ eardrum and left him with a black eye. As you can imagine, that got all kinds of heat backstage, with people noting that Scott shouldn’t have been out there nor put in that position in the first place. The one story is that Scott was told to make it look good but it was too good.
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that The Rock originally wanted Cody Rhodes to turn heel instead of Cena.
