Cody Rhodes Injured At WWE Elimination Chamber

Cody Rhodes suffered the heartbreak of a betrayal at Elimination Chamber but it seems the WWE Champion also suffered a very real injury.

At Elimination Chamber: Toronto, John Cena won the Elimination Chamber to claim his WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 41. Cody Rhodes immediately made his way to the ring and shared a handshake with his challenger but then the party was over as it was time for The Rock to get his answer from Rhodes about taking his soul.

Cody Rhodes told The Rock emphatically “Hey Rock, go f*ck yourself” but The Final Boss had a plan. John Cena embraced Rhodes before he got the signal from The Rock and Cena nailed Rhodes below the belt before taking him out with a Rolex and the WWE Championship. Cody Rhodes was left bloodied while John Cena stood tall with The Rock and rap star Travis Scott who nailed Rhodes with a vicious slap that showed why Scott wasn’t a wrestler.

Cody Rhodes Has A Burst Ear Drum

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed he’d heard that Rhodes had been left worse for wear after the attack, specifically from Scott:

I’m pretty sure that it was Travis Scott that did it. I heard he had a busted eardrum and a black eye.

Cody Rhodes was not at the March 3 edition of Raw but Michael Cole confirmed that Rhodes told him that he’d be at SmackDown in San Antonio on March 7 where he is expected to address the vicious betrayal.
