Lita Hints At WWE Return To Break Infamous Curse

Could Lita return to WWE?

For years many fans have joked that the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles are cursed. Mercedes Mone and Naomi walked out while holding the gold, and injuries to Sonya Deville, Liv Morgan, and Aliyah have all caused title reigns to be cut short.

Even today, one-half of the current champions, Asuka is racing to be fit for WrestleMania after suffering a leg injury.

However, Lita has an interesting solution. Appearing at Monopoly Events’ ‘For the Love of Wrestling’ alongside Trish Stratus, the WWE Hall of Famer said if the pair won the titles she’s sure the curse would be lifted.

“People like to talk about this imaginary curse of the [women’s] tag titles, but I think that if Trish and I were tag champs, that somehow the curse would magically disappear.”

When Did Lita Last Wrestle In WWE?

Lita might have ended her full-time career in 2006, but the star has continued to make appearances for WWE, even returning to the ring. After appearing in two Royal Rumble matches, Lita challenged Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Title at Elimination Chamber in 2022.

Although she tasted defeat on that occasion, she returned to the ring in February 2023 after joining forces with Lynch to win the Tag Team Titles. Two months later the pair linked up with Trish Status to see off Damage CTRL at WrestleMania 39.

On the April 10th episode of Raw, Lita was attacked backstage, and Trish Stratus teamed with Lynch as they lost the Tag Team Titles. It was later revealed that Stratus was behind the assault after she turned heel, also attacking Lynch.

Lita returned to WWE television in November to announce the participants in the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline.
