Kurt Angle Reveals Who Else Was Considered For His Storyline Child

While Jason Jordan was the final choice, Kurt Angle has revealed there was at least one other name discussed for his illegitimate child storyline in 2017.

In July 2017, WWE ran a storyline where Kurt Angle was forced to admit he had an illegitimate who was on the WWE roster. In the end, it turned out that it was American Alpha’s Jason Jordan.

However, Jordan wasn’t the only person discussed for the role, with one other star having almost taken the role.

Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, The Kurt Angle Show (available early from AdFreeShows), Angle revealed what could have been.

“I never heard about Dixie Carter or Stephanie McMahon, that never came to me at least. But Chad Gable was a possibility, I knew they were throwing that around. But Vince [McMahon] decided to make it Jason Jordan, and that’s how it stood.”

After over a decade away, Kurt Angle returned to WWE in early 2017 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame before returning to an onscreen role as the Raw General Manager. He took part in a few matches after he came back, including facing Chad Gable ahead of his retirement. He had his last match at WrestleMania 35 where he lost to Baron Corbin.

Jason Jordan hasn’t wrestled since the 2018 Royal Rumble pay-per-view. After he and Seth Rollins lost the Raw Tag Team Championships to The Bar – Cesaro and Sheamus – the star was forced to undergo neck surgery and has been unable to wrestle again since. He now works in a backstage capacity as a senior producer for WWE.
