WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has discussed Randy Orton’s recent surgery and says that it could be “saving his career.”

Randy Orton last competed in a WWE ring back in May when he and Matt Riddle lost the Raw Tag Team Championship to The Usos in a title unification match. Since then, The Viper has been out of action with an injury with Orton apparently recently undergoing surgery.

Speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, Kurt Angle explained that having a back injury stopped Orton from doing anything and this surgery will hopefully prolong his career:

“Your back controls everything. You can’t do anything when your back is hurting. I’ll give you an example. Randy Orton just had surgery on his back. He literally couldn’t do anything, and this surgery is hopefully saving his career. But that’s how much back problems can affect you as a pro wrestler.”

There is currently no timetable for Orton to return but another WWE Superstar is rumoured to be possibly returning to the ring a lot sooner than originally anticipated.

Kurt Angle was recently the topic of conversation for Seth Rollins, who admitted that it was “not ideal” that the Olympic gold medallist a one-time member of The Shield.
