WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash recently talked to Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard website. The Extra Mustard branch of Sports Illustrated is described as the place “where culture meets sports.” The former WWF and WCW World Heavyweight Champion spoke about various topics in his life including his current acting career, The Undertaker still being able to bring it, and how he feels he has one more WWE run left in him.
Nash’s comments on his acting career and what it’s like to be a character actor:
“I take every role, whether it’s a line or more, and try to make it my own. All these people talk about the secret to acting. To me, it’s once you find the character, like Engleheart in ‘The Longest Yard.’ I could turn that character on morning, noon, and night. That’s the key–finding the character.”
“I’ve had a career in wrestling, and this is the next area where I’m determined to be successful. You have to be realistic and know that you’re just going to be a character actor. You’re not going to be a lead, you’re not going to be doing romantic comedies, but there is plenty of work out there.”
Nash’s thoughts on why The Undertaker is still so successful in the ring:
“There’s a reason why, right now, Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson are out touring. People want the drama. When guys are kicking out of 450-f—— moonsaults on one-and-a-half, what’s the false finish? There are so few storytellers left, but ‘Taker can go out there and tell a story.”
Nash on wanting to have one more run in the WWE:
“I have one more run. I’m starting to get things fixed. I’m getting my shoulder fixed, I’m getting my neck fixed. I miss it, so never say never.”

I’m happy that Big Sexy’s acting career is going well. He’s never going to be The Rock or a leading man and he understands that. Nash has always had a lot of charisma so this transition into acting seemed like the perfect logical step. He’s found his groove as a serviceable character actor so good for him.
In regards to wanting one more run in the WWE, now that’s something I don’t want to see it at all. He’s 56 years old and has had plenty of leg and back problems in the past. He doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone anymore. I feel like some of these older guys like Nash see Sting and The Undertaker wrestling at WrestleMania in main event level matches, in front of tens of thousands of people, and they get that itch to want to get back into it too. It’s understandable. For most of these guys it was the greatest time of their lives, and performing in front of a live crowd must be an adrenaline rush unlike any other. However, there comes a time when you really just have to let go and let the younger guys have their moment. Nash’s appearance at this year’s WrestleMania was perfect for what it was. He’s fine doing little run-in’s and surprise returns like that, but I don’t want to see another Kevin Nash wrestling match taking up the current roster’s time.
Would you like to see Nash have one more WWE run? Would you like to see him possibly as someone’s manager, or as a GM of Raw? Or would you rather see him ride off into the sunset now that he’s a WWE Hall of Famer and scoring roles in movies? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
