Kenny Omega Prevented From Triplemania Match

Kenny Omega

Plans for Kenny Omega to compete at AAA Triplemania have been axed as a result of the AEW star’s current suspension.

At the press conference following AEW All Out on September 4th, CM Punk went off-script to air his very real issues with The Young Bucks, Hangman Adam Page, and Colt Cabana, making divisive comments that did not go down well backstage.

After the press conference, The Young Bucks are said to have gone to Punk’s locker room, leading to a fight. Among the allegations stemming from that was that Kenny Omega was bitten by AEW producer and longtime friend of CM Punk, Ace Steel.

The altercation led to The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, CM Punk, and Ace Steel recieving suspensions from the company while the incident is investigated. Several other stars involved in the melee recently had their suspensions lifted.

It seems that Kenny Omega’s suspension extends beyond AEW, with it being revealed that he was scheduled to headline the Mexican promotion AAA’s biggest event of the year, Triplemania on October 15th.

Mexican wrestling legend Konnan discussed the plan on his podcast, explaining that AEW won’t let Omega compete at the show.

“Omega was gonna headline Triplemania and [AEW] won’t let him go.”

Konnan noted that, as well as Kenny Omega, AEW Head of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels confirmed that the former AEW World Champion was not allowed to take part in the show.
