Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes both feature in a new television series.
Rhodes and Omega both make appearances in new animated Netflix series ‘Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix.’ The show is inspired by ‘Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon’, and premiered on October 19th.
On the show, the pair voice themselves and appear as wrestlers in the Eden Wrestling Federation.
In a post on social media, Omega described the show as a “heck of a fun ride,” joking that some of his “old friends” make an appearance.
Rhodes and Omega have a lengthy history, serving as two of the founders of All Elite Wrestling. Along with the Young Bucks, the quartet became company EVPs, with Rhodes leaving his role when he left the company in early 2022. The American Nightmare went on to return to WWE, and there’s been a great deal of speculation about why he left the company he helped create.
With Rhodes and AEW boss Tony Khan staying quiet on the issue, fan theories have dominated social media. This has included the idea that there were issues between Rhodes and the Bucks. Despite the notoriety of this theory, back in July, Cody Rhodes claimed it couldn’t be further from the truth, revealing he still speaks with the Jackson brothers.
Cody Rhodes Set For High-Profile Match At Crown Jewel
While Kenny Omega has seemingly returned to his focus to the AEW World Championship, Cody Rhodes has continued his war with the Judgment Day.
On the October 23rd episode of Raw, Rhodes was attacked by the group and left in a heap after having his ankle decimated with a steel chair. It’s been announced that Rhodes will meet Damian Priest in singles action at Crown Jewel.
