Kenny Omega & Co. Win Lights Out Steel Cage Match At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door
The AEW Lights Out Steel Cage match was a topsy-turvy, hardcore affair.
The fans at the O2 Arena were informed beforehand that the cage match was unsanctioned, and the promotion would not be responsible for anything that happened inside.
The brutal match left multiple stars busted open, including Darby Allin, Will Ospreay, and Jon Moxley.
It saw incredible teamwork from Death Riders, The Young Bucks, and Gabe Kidd, as they singled out Kenny Omega and Darby Allin in a sequence of maneuvers.
While Hiroshi Tanahashi managed to put the brakes on them for a while, the numbers game proved to be too much.
The match lived up to its extreme nature when Moxley dug a fork in Allin’s right ear. Moxley was then sent spine-first by Ospreay into a table with barbed wire.
Kenny Omega & Co. Thrive At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door
Despite the rules stating the match could end only in pinfall, the action in the AEW cage match moved outside, with Moxley and Allin climbing over the cage.
Allin crashed and burned through a two-tier table set up, taking Gabe Kidd with him.
Inside the cage, the babyfaces targeted The Young Bucks, with Tanahashi getting the pinfall after hitting a splash on Matt Jackson.
After the match, Death Riders singled out and brutally attacked Ospreay as he celebrated with the home crowd.
