AEW Executive Feels Jon Moxley’s Death Riders Deserve More Credit

Jon Moxley cuts a promo on AEW Dynamite

Jon Moxley and the Death Riders deserve a lot more credit than they receive, according to an AEW Executive.

The current AEW World Title reign of Jon Moxley started way back at the WrestleDream PPV in October 2024. In the nine months since then, Moxley has beaten everybody who has challenged him for the AEW World Title, including Cope, Swerve Strickland, and Orange Cassidy, among others.

Since becoming the AEW World Champion for the fourth time, Jon Moxley has hidden the championship from everybody. That’s because Moxley keeps the AEW World Title in a briefcase, which is usually held by Marina Shafir, who is part of the Death Riders group that Moxley leads.

In addition to Shafir, Moxley’s Death Riders group consists of Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Pac, who is currently out of action due to injury. The Death Riders have also been assisted by NJPW’s Gabe Kidd, who brings the intensity just like Moxley does.

The Death Riders group has been in the middle of AEW storylines for the past nine months, as babyface wrestlers in the company have tried their best to get the AEW World Title from Moxley.

Matt Jackson Feels Jon Moxley And The Death Riders Don’t Get Enough Credit

While speaking to Renee Paquette (Moxley’s wife) on AEW Close-Up, Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks put his Executive Vice President hat on to praise Jon Moxley and The Death Riders for being a big reason why business is booming for AEW.

“There’s one thing I would love to say to the fans. The Death Riders do not get enough credit for what they’ve done for this company in the last year.

The crowd is up. The ratings are up. The houses are up. The fans are excited. That’s because of the Death Riders. I feel like they don’t get enough credit for what they’ve done for this place.”

At AEW All In Texas, Jon Moxley will defend the AEW World Title against “Hangman” Adam Page in a Texas Death Match that could include other wrestlers getting involved, and it’s a match that could mark the end of Moxley’s lengthy AEW World Title reign.
