Jon Moxley Opens AEW Dynamite With A Huge Win Over Don Callis Family Member
AEW returned from its Australia tour after hosting the Grand Slam television special in Sydney, Australia. The promotion was back in the United States tonight as the show was being hosted live in Sacramento, California.
AEW Grand Slam featured some exciting matches on the show, including the brutal clash for the Continental Championship between Jon Moxley and Konosuke Takeshita, which kicked off the event.
After retaining the championship in a time limit draw against Takeshita, Moxley was in action tonight, as he took on another Don Callis Family member to open the show.
Jon Moxley picks up another win on AEW Dynamite
Moxley met Mark Davis in one-on-one action in an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match tonight. Davis began the match on the front foot but injured his right hand early in the match as he puched the steel post after Mox ducked out of the way.
This allowed Moxley to target his limb as he began stomping on his hand all throughout the match. Moxley took control of the match from this point onwards and never looked like going back.
Davis tried to get back in the match at multiple moments, but he wasn’t a match for the champion, who ultimately managed to get his win by tapping Davis out with the Bulldog choke.
