Injury Update On Drew McIntyre After He Was Pulled From Title Match
A new report has shed light on the injury status of Drew McIntyre after he was pulled from a major upcoming match on SmackDown.
While the Brawling Brutes were in action on the December 2nd episode of SmackDown, Drew McIntyre was nowhere to be seen, and despite being advertised for a tag team title match alongside Sheamus on the 9th, it now appears that his absence will continue for at least one more week.
The star took to social media today to announce that he is “medically disqualified” from competing on Friday. He did not provide a timetable for his return or the nature of his medical issue but promised to be back soon.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave an update on McIntyre’s situation and does not expect the former WWE Champion to be out of action for too long:
“He is injured. I was told an injury, but it’s not from a firsthand source. But he’s supposed to be back for the Christmas show. So it’s only a couple of weeks, I know that.”
“The only thing I know is that he wanted to wrestle and they would not let him wrestle. But it’s not like it’s going to be a long-term thing, at least as it stands right now. But yes, he was basically medically pulled from Friday’s show and Butch will team with Sheamus against the Usos for the tag team title.”
