“I Can’t Watch It”: Former World Champion About WWE Unreal

WWE Unreal

Not everyone in the Stamford promotion is a fan of WWE: Unreal.

The Netflix docuseries is a one-of-a-kind show that provides viewers a peek into the lives of wrestlers behind the scenes.

Season 1 of the show was released last year in July, whereas the 2nd Season dropped on January 20, 2026, each containing 5 episodes.

While the first season was a lead-up to WrestleMania 41, the second season focused on the subsequent events until SummerSlam.

The episodes have been warmly received by fans, with industry critics also speaking positively about the pace and drama that the show delivers on.

But it has its fair share of detractors, including some from WWE, one of whom is former World Champion Seth Rollins.

Seth Rollins Not Onboard With WWE: Unreal

Despite being extensively featured in Season 2 of WWE: Unreal along with his wife Becky Lynch, Rollins self-admittedly belongs to the category of wrestlers who believe in protecting industry secrets.

During an appearance on 25 Whistles with Bobby Bones, the 39-year-old claimed that he was not entirely on board with Unreal, and that it made him feel dirty.

No, I can’t watch the show. I didn’t watch season one and I wasn’t even in it. I can’t watch it. It makes me feel dirty.

He also claimed that the show revealing wrestlers’ real names was not an issue for him, but revealing the mechanics behind the in-house operations did it for him.

The real name stuff’s not as bad because of the internet. But sharing the behind-the-scenes of how the stories happen and the ins and outs of the industry, that part feels like I’m just not totally comfortable with that. I’m not entirely on board with all of it.

So even like having those interviews, I feel myself like clamming up. You know, like the sit-downs are like, ‘Okay, tell me about this story.’ I’m like, ‘How much do I want them to know?’
