Huge Update On Former WWE Champions Amid Uncertain Future
There are some updates on the health status of two former WWE Champions who are out of action due to injuries.
It is WrestleMania week, and there’s a lot of excitement about what WWE will present for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
One year ago, around this time, there was a lot of anticipation for the Women’s World Title match between champion Iyo Sky, Rhea Ripley, and Bianca Belair. Those three talented women put on an absolute classic that Sky won. Sadly, it was the last time Bianca Belair competed in a WWE match because she suffered broken fingers in the match.
After trying multiple treatments over the last year, former Women’s Champion Belair had finger surgery in February and is still on the WWE injured list.
Sheamus is another big WWE name on the injured list since he had shoulder surgery in late December after being taken out of John Cena’s Last Time Is Now Tournament a month earlier.
During a recent edition of the Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp gave some updates on Belair, who was not expected to be out for this long, and the veteran former WWE Champion, Sheamus.
“We got people asking about Sheamus’s timetable and Bianca Belair as well. Listen, Bianca Belair, they never expected her to miss a full year. She didn’t either. She was not at risk of amputation like Jonathan Coachman said.
Sheamus, I think, is still going to be out for a few months. He’s older and it’s a shoulder injury from what I understand. It’s unfortunate, but yeah.”
WWE’s Bianca Belair Takes Pleasure In Inspiring Others
As a major WWE superstar and one of the biggest female stars of her generation, Bianca Belair is an inspiration to many fans. The former Women’s Champion spoke about it in the past, and how it means a lot to her.
“It feels great. I call myself the BEST of WWE, which means I’m the strongest, the fastest, the roughest, the toughest, the quickest, the greatest, the best.
I always want to encourage people to be the best at whatever it is that they do. So, I love that I have this message that doesn’t just stick to being in the ring. It can go outside the ring.
My favorite thing is when I have meet-and-greets and have people come up to me and tell me that they went after something in life that has absolutely nothing to do with wrestling. You know, they had one girl come to me saying, ‘I’m going back to school because I’m inspired by you.’
I applied for that job because I was intimidated, intimidated about just encouraging kids to try new things. And it’s okay if you’re nervous, just don’t be scared. Go out there and just be the best. Do what you can do.
So I love that. Like, my message can transcend to other areas. But it’s great. Like I always say, I look at my role models and how they inspired me. I wouldn’t be who I am without my role models. And so now to see that somebody sees a role model in me and I’m impacting them in a way, a positive way, that means everything to me.”
