“I’m The One Here Every Week” – Toni Storm On Thunder Rosa
Toni Storm wants to stop the “interim nonsense” and says she’s the one at AEW every week in response to Thunder Rosa still being billed as AEW Women’s Champion.
Thunder Rosa captured the AEW Women’s Championship in a Steel Cage match against Dr. Britt Baker DMD on the 16th of March 2022 edition of Dynamite. Her run at the top of the women’s division came to something of a halt ahead of All Out when she revealed she couldn’t defend her title due to injury. An injury that did not come without aspersions being cast against Thunder Rosa.
In Rosa’s absence, Toni Storm became Interim AEW Women’s World Champion at All Out when she won a four-way match that also included Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Hikaru Shida.
Speaking in an interview with Bleacher Report, Toni Storm says she’s looking to defeat Thunder Rosa when she returns so she can put the word ‘interim’ behind her:
“I guess my first thing would be to beat Thunder Rosa and stop this interim nonsense. That’s kind of what’s been bothering me. I think that’s been bothering a lot of people because she’s still calling herself the AEW women’s world champion and I’m the one here every week doing the work.”
“Right now. I guess it’s about being a good champion, being a strong champion. That’s what I’m up against every day. I’m working harder than I ever had in my entire career. The time is now. I look at every week as just an opportunity to prove myself. I love giving it my all and who knows where we go from here? But all I know is I’m gonna continue to work hard.”
Toni Storm faces a huge challenge to keep the Interim AEW Women’s World Championship when she puts her gold on the line against Hikaru Shida on Dynamite in Cincinnati, Ohio.
