Gunther Teases Going After Another WWE Legend Following Royal Rumble

Gunther has been one of the most dangerous men on the roster in recent times. 

He has been focused on becoming the career killer, and so far retired three blockbuster superstars: Bill Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles.

Now, he seems to have found a new target at Royal Rumble 2026.

Gunther is going after the original ‘Legend Killer’

After the Royal Rumble, The Ring General had a conversation with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant. During that, the former World Heavyweight Champion explained that his career is built on what he brings to the table, rather than the names he has retired. When Roberts asked if this had anything to do with him targeting The Viper at Royal Rumble, the former World Heavyweight Champion did not deny.

Gunther: My career is not built on what fans think about me. My career is not built on Goldberg, John Cena, AJ Styles. My career is built on the results I deliver, the performances I deliver. That’s what it’s built on.

Sam Roberts: Did you specifically target Randy Orton in the Royal Rumble for similar reasons?

Gunther: Maybe.

It has been noted that Gunther vs. Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42 can become a blockbuster match on the card, especially if the speculations revolve around The Ring General retiring The Apex Predator!
