This Women’s Champion’s reign has gotten a mixed reception from fans and critics

Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer has successfully defended her title over the past few months. She won the World Championship at WWE’s Wrestlepalooza in September last year.

Vaquer is currently embroiled in an intense feud with fellow Spaniard and arch-nemesis Raquel Rodriguez, who has her eye on the World Title.

Although there have been few doubts from fans and critics regarding her in-ring capabilities, La Primera has occasionally been criticized for not having great mic skills or being believable as a babyface.

Stephanie is also a native Spanish speaker and has only recently started learning how to speak English, which many feel affects the quality of her promos.

WWE Star Stephanie Vaquer’s Character Change Suggestion

In a discussion amongst panelists on Konnan’s Keepin’ it 100 Official podcast, one panelist voices his opinions on Vaquer’s character, stating that he isn’t impressed with her because of her limited verbal skills and emotive expressions.

He states that her character could benefit from a Chris Benoit-style character booking, where she can be a heel and incite more violence to compensate for her lack of emotive abilities. The panelist, in essence, urges Triple H and WWE creative to take a different direction with La Primera.

She doesn’t have a lot of personality.

She’s very stoic, okay? She doesn’t show a lot of facial expression or emotion beyond like- She’s just like there, and they have not helped her out creatively by just sticking her out there and cutting these promos with very generic verbiage, and it’s just like she’s not getting over,

and I’m like, you know, I keep saying it’s like you’re going to get in a spot here where she’s not over, like, to the spot they had to do this. Now they’re trying to get some good heat on her sympathy, but, bro, she- This is what I- My opinion she should be like. If she’s got that stoic attitude and she’s a great worker, she’s actually excellent in the ring, but, bro, take those- She  should be more like kind of like a Benoit, violent, but violent.

Like, if you’re not going to show a lot of emotion, that’s who you’re- So, bro, you need to show violence. Yeah. Like, I think she would be a better heel. (3:38 onwards)

The other panellist gives a contrasting opinion, saying that he feels Vaquer is over with WWE fans and that she works very well as a babyface.
