Ghost From Oba Femi’s Past Drops WWE Tease: “That’s Going To Come Back Into Play”

A former rival of Oba Femi teased a potential future feud with him while recalling defeating Oba. The star in discussion is Ricky Saints.

Since joining the WWE in 2022, Oba Femi has made a reputation for not being easy to beat. During his time in NXT, Oba rarely lost any singles matches. Even during his run on the main roster this year, The Ruler hasn’t lost any singles matches except his defeat against Brock Lesnar at Clash in Italy recently.

During his NXT run, Ricky Saints was one of the few wrestlers who beat Oba Femi. Saints joined the WWE last year, and he shockingly defeated Oba to win the NXT Championship at No Mercy in September last year.

WWE star teases revisiting the feud with Oba Femi

The WWE star, Ricky Saints, was called up to SmackDown last month, and he recently spoke about Oba Femi.

Speaking on Complex Graps the Podcast, Ricky Saints was asked about being one of the few people who beat Oba Femi. Saints recalled what his thought process was after beating Oba:

I think at the time I didn’t really expect, I don’t know what I expected. Obviously Oba is a great wrestler, I definitely could see it even from then why people are infatuated with him. I think I went home afterwards like ‘ok I beat Oba, I’m the new NXT Champion’, I don’t think it still kind of settled in for me, because I’m so used to things happen, and then I’m onto the next. It takes me like a year for me to look back like ‘that was crazy’.”

Ricky Saints further teased a future feud with Oba Femi, saying him beating Oba in NXT could come back into play on the main roster, and he is ready for it:

I think this current part of my life, where we have Oba and Brock, I’m having my stuff on SmackDown, it is crazy to go back and be like ‘wow I am one of the very few people to have a win over Oba Femi’, and I already know that’s going to come back into play down the line here. I’m willing, I’m open to it, and I’m ready for it, and I know he’s gonna want that back, I definitely expect that full force, but it was a pretty great time to have that.” [H/T Wrestletalk]
