A former WWE Tag Team Champion is looking to secure a fight with Jake Paul.

Matt Riddle was released by WWE back in September, but he’s seemingly wasted little time in looking for a new challenge. It’s been announced that Riddle will return to the ring to face Rob Van Dam in March 2024, but his ambitions extend outside of wrestling.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Riddle has reached out to Jake Paul attempting to put a deal for a fight together.

After getting the better of Nate Diaz in August, Paul now has a professional boxing record of seven wins from eight fights, with his only defeat coming to Tommy Fury.

“Matt Riddle and his reps spoke directly to Jake Paul of late regarding doing a match. Paul expressed no interest in facing Riddle under MMA rules, where Riddle would have the experience edge even though he hasn’t been active or trained for fighting for years.

Riddle was willing to do a boxing match and at this point it’s up to Paul’s side, which obviously it always would be since he’s the A side.”

Jake Paul In High Demand

Although Riddle is looking to secure a fight with Paul, it seems that he isn’t alone. AEW talent Anthony Ogogo recently called Jake Paul out on social media telling the star to come and find him if he wants to face a real boxer.

While Ogogo is currently an AEW-contracted wrestler, he’s an Olympic bronze medalist in boxing, with a record of 11 wins and one defeat as a professional.

Ogogo retired from boxing in 2019 following a serious eye injury sustained in 2016. After confirming his retirement, the star launched his wrestling career, eventually signing with AEW in late 2019.
