Logan Paul Outsmarts Cody Rhodes Over WWE Title Bout

Logan Paul

Cody Rhodes had an eye on more title gold in WWE but Logan Paul had other ideas ahead of their clash at King & Queen of the Ring.

Cody Rhodes finished his story at WrestleMania 40 to finally become WWE Champion by defeating Roman Reigns. Since then The American Nightmare successfully defended his title at Backlash France against AJ Styles but he didn’t have to wait long to find his next challenger.

On SmackDown in Wilkes-Barre, General Manager Nick Aldis told Rhodes he was bringing out his next challenger for the WWE Title and it was current United States Champion Logan Paul who emerged.

Paul told Rhodes that at King & Queen of the Ring in Saudi Arabia, it would be a ‘Champion vs. Champion’ match between the two men. As the two men exchanged verbal jabs, Cody Rhodes noted that if he became US Champion then he’d have achieved the status of a WWE Grand Slam Champion, indicating that both titles will be on the line in the match. But Logan Paul had other ideas.

Logan Paul Crushes Cody Rhodes’ Grand Slam Dream

On the 17th of May edition of SmackDown, Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul met face-to-face to sign the contract for their match in Saudi Arabia. However, Logan Paul had a lawyer with him and revealed he had the contract rewritten so his US Championship won’t be on the line after all.

The updated card for WWE King & Queen of the Ring is:

  • Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Logan Paul – WWE Championship
  • Becky Lynch (c) vs. Liv Morgan – Women’s World Championship
  • Sami Zayn (c) vs. Chad Gable vs. Bronson Reed – Intercontinental Championship
  • King of the Ring Final – Randy Orton/Tama Tonga vs. Gunther/Jey Uso
