Former WWE Star Confirms She Will Never Wrestle Again: “My Days Are Over”

A former WWE superstar has no plans to ever wrestle again.

When WWE fans think about former superstar Dawn Marie, they don’t necessarily think of her as a great wrestler, but she certainly wrestled during her career.

Dawn Marie worked for ECW from 1998 until the company closed in early 2001. During her ECW run, she was aligned as a manager for wrestlers like Justin Credible and Lance Storm, while getting into catfights with her main rival, Francine.

After WWE did the first brand extension/roster split in the spring of 2002, Dawn Marie was signed and spent most of her three-year run on the SmackDown brand.

Following her WWE career, she got married, had two kids, and moved on from the wrestling business. However, Dawn continues to make appearances to meet wrestling fans who watched her during her career.

Dawn Marie hasn’t had a match since 2008, but it seems like every wrestler gets asked if they want to have another match. While speaking to Going Ringside, Dawn made it clear that her wrestling days are done.

“No. My days are over.”

As for what she’s doing now, Dawn spoke about being involved in nursing and a business she runs.

“What I’m doing now is I’m a nurse by trade. So I specialize in locked dementia units. I’ve been loving that. I’ve been doing that for years.”

“I also have a crystal store, and I do alternative healing, and I do education and teachings. I do that also.” (H/T Ringsidenews)

Dawn Marie Admits Memorable WWE Feud Was Weird

During her first year in WWE, Dawn Marie had a lengthy feud with Torrie Wilson in late 2002 into 2003. Wilson was the most popular woman on SmackDown, while Marie was a heel character who tried to make things personal.

To get back at Wilson for losing so often to her in various competitions, Dawn seduced Torrie’s elderly father, Al. The story was so ridiculous that it led Torrie to make out with Dawn in a hotel room to try to get Dawn to stop taking advantage of poor Al. It eventually led to Dawn marrying Al while Dawn was in her lingerie.

The story took a darker turn when Al “died” during the honeymoon with Dawn. At the “funeral” for poor Al, Wilson and Marie got into a brawl because that’s what happens in WWE.

Dawn’s storyline with Torrie Wilson culminated in Wilson beating Dawn Marie in a 4-minute match at the 2003 Royal Rumble, ending the rivalry.

Recalling the feud, Marie admitted it was strange, but also fun.

“They came up with an angle and they wanted me to seduce her father. They used her real father. They asked her, ‘Do you want to use your real dad, or do you want us to hire someone?’ She’s like, ‘No, use my real dad. It’ll give me an opportunity to spend some time with him, because you know when you’re on the road, you don’t see your family ever.

It was weird when I had to make out with her father and her all on the same night. It was okay. It was fun,”
