Former WWE Champion Recalls Early Part Of Dominik Mysterio’s WWE Career
This former WWE star recently detailed Dominik Mysterio’s growth.
Dominik Mysterio first appeared on TV in the early 2000s as a young kid. Son of the legendary Rey Mysterio, Dominik was part of an infamous storyline that involved the late WWE legend Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio fighting for the custody of Dominik Mysterio, with Eddie claiming to be his real father.
Cut to the present day, and Dominik Mysterio is a star himself and the current Intercontinental Champion.
Mysterio was out nursing an injury recently. His last match before the injury was against WWE legend John Cena, which Dominik won and took Cena’s Intercontinental Title at Survivor Series: War Games.
He is part of the heel faction Judgement Day and in a storyline relationship with 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble match winner Liv Morgan.
Former WWE Champion Big E Talks About Dominik Mysterio
Former WWE star, famously known for being a part of The New Day tag team, Big E, recently spoke to Compas On The Beat when he appeared at the Super Bowl Radio Row.
He talked about Dominik Mysterio’s early days and overall growth as a wrestler and star. Big E praised Mysterio for his confidence and for doing an “incredible job.”
He is someone… we talk often, on the (WWE) panel, about guys who have really grown, and he is a prime example.
When he first came on the road… y’know, came up with his dad, you could tell he was green, you could tell he wasn’t quite comfortable.
But, I think, too many times, it’s an example that we, too often, will throw away talent. We’ll say “he’s not ready”, “he doesn’t have it”, “I don’t know”, “he should go back down to NXT”, “fire him”.
Big E believes that, given the opportunity to grow, talents like Mysterio get to shine.
Give guys an opportunity to grow. Give guys an opportunity to find that footing, cos I needed that time as well.“He’s someone who’s taken that ball and really run with it. He’s done an incredible job. He’s someone that, when you see him, you believe every word that comes out of his mouth.
The way he carries himself, his confidence; I can’t speak highly enough of his growth as a talent. He’s done an incredible job and he’s still so young. He’s not even thirty yet.
He’s just going to get better and better, so shout out to him and all the work he’s done.
