The most recent wave of WWE main roster call-ups saw several main event stars leave NXT and move up to either RAW or SmackDown following WrestleMania 42. Both the men’s and women’s rosters lost major stars.

Former NXT Champions like Ethan Page and Ricky Saints left the black-and-silver promotion, leaving the main event picture on WWE NXT a little thin, leading Robert Stone to sign some major stars to the brand.

He welcomed former NJPW star Naraku to the brand, who made his in-ring debut tonight. Meanwhile, another huge independent wrestling star, who made his debut on the same week as Naraku, signed his WWE NXT contract tonight.

Mason Rook signs his WWE NXT contract tonight

After Naraku had confronted Tony D’Angleo in his debut appearance on the April 28 episode, the NXT Champion was attacked by Tavion Heights before being hit with a huge moonsault from British Independent Wrestling star Will Kroos.

Now, going by Mason Rook, he made another impactful appearance last week before Robert Stone decided to offer him an NXT contract. Rook came to the ring to sign his contract, but was interrupted by Tony D’Angelo, who had some words for him.

However, before things could go further between them, Kam Hendrix attacked D’Angelo from behind, leading to the security getting involved. Rook took advantage of the situation and hit a major moonsault to take everyone out before signing his contract and having a staredown with Tony D’Angelo.
