Week 1 of AAA Noche de Los Grandes witnessed multiple title changes.

The event, which took place on May 30, also comprised a high-stakes bout with both El Grande Americanos squaring off in a Mask vs. Mask match.

While fighting, both wrestlers bled profusely; there were interferences from both Americanos’ allies and Pimpinela Escarlata, after which the “Original” El Grande Americano was unmasked following a loss.

The wrestler behind the mask was revealed to be Chad Gable, a multi-time tag team champion on WWE Raw and SmackDown and a one-time WWE Speed Champion.

Addressing the AAA audience in Monterrey and viewers worldwide, Gable spoke about taking a journey to Mexico to learn about the Lucha Libre ways and his intent to beat the best luchadors.

He also introduced his family to the world, including his wife, two daughters, and a son. He then promised to return to AAA in the future.

The pay-per-view also saw Rey Fenix become the new World Cruiserweight Champion by defeating Laredo Kid. El Hijo del Vikingo defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. for the Latin American Championship. Furthermore, the War Raiders won the AAA World Tag Team Championship by beating Pagano and Psycho Clown.

Octagon Jr. Stretchered Off After AAA Event

After the May 30 event ended, AAA taped Week 2 of Noche de Los Grandes.

In one of the two advertised matches for June 6, Octagon Jr. was featured in a five-way match, which also included Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde, Lince Dorado, and Mini Vikingo.

Now, a video circulating online shows Octagon suffering a devastating DDT off the top rope, which led to him being stretchered out of the arena.

In the video, the referee can be seen checking on Octagon Jr. before throwing up the ‘X’ sign and calling for medical professionals.

It is still a developing situation, and there is no update at the moment.

Everyone at TJR Wrestling wishes Octagon Jr. the best and a swift return to the squared circle.
