Chad Gable Breaks Silence After Getting Unmasked At AAA Noche De Los Grandes
Chad Gable has now reacted to his major recent loss.
Chad Gable, who created the Luchador character El Grande Americano, had to take a break from TV in the middle of 2025 to nurse a severe left rotator cuff injury that required successful surgery. He had Ludwig Kaiser take up the mantle of the Luchador character in his absence.
This led to an intriguing storyline when Gable returned as The Original El Grande Americano at the Royal Rumble this year and faced off against Kaiser’s version. The two then embarked on a long feud where each man was surrounded by a team of luchadors. They would all battle it out in different permutations weekly on Raw.
The rivalry reached its pinnacle this Saturday at AAA’s event Noche de los Grandes when Kaiser’s version finally defeated the original in a violent match full of blood.
Chad Gable Reacts Post His Unmasking
The stipulation for the match was that the loser had to take off their mask. Gable had to do so after the bout, but he has taken to Instagram to say that he was actually feeling very alive and it wasn’t shameful for him to have it taken off.
Tonight the mask died.
And suddenly I feel more ALIVE than ever.

After a long-standing rivalry, multiple singles and tag matches, and high-flying Luchador action, Ludwig Kaiser’s version will continue to be El Grande Americano, while the “original” version played by Gable has now effectively ended.
It would be interesting to see what direction WWE takes with Chad Gable now that his Luchador days seem to be over.
