Expected Time For Blake Monroe’s WWE SmackDown Debut
Blake Monroe made a massive splash by debuting on WWE’s NXT brand in June last year.
Before joining the Stamford promotion, she was Mariah May on All Elite Wrestling, where she had been part of a riveting storyline with Toni Storm.
Monroe debuted in WWE as a babyface, confronting then-NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne on the June 3 taping.
At the Great American Bash PLE in July, she teamed up with Jordynne Grace to defeat Jayne and Fallon Henley.
However, at Evolution, she turned heel by attacking Grace in her match against Jayne, costing the former an opportunity to win the prestigious women’s title.
Both wrestlers then traded wins at Heatwave and No Mercy before ending their feud. Soon after, Blake Monroe began pursuing the Women’s North American Championship, then held by Sol Ruca.
Due to Ruca’s injury at the time, her tag partner Zaria stepped in to defend the title in her stead. However, she was beaten by Monroe, crowning her the new North American Champion.
She lost the title to Thea Hail after a botched finish during the December 16 episode of NXT. While there were reports of Blake potentially reclaiming the belt, the storyline was seemingly dropped as there were claims of Monroe being moved to the main roster.
Despite murmurs, Blake Monroe remained a part of the developmental brand and was involved in feuds against the likes of Jaidah Parker and Tatum Paxley.
In her last NXT bout, Monroe lost to Paxley in a Casket Match on Week 2 of NXT Revenge on April 21.
When Will Blake Monroe Debut On WWE SmackDown?
It’s been a couple of weeks since Blake Monroe was announced as the latest joinee on WWE’s SmackDown brand.
Last week, former NXT Champion Ricky Saints and the Fatal Influence trio of Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid made their main roster debuts on the blue brand.
While Saints lost his match against Cody Rhodes, Jayne was featured in a singles match against Rhea Ripley, which ended in a DQ after her stablemates attacked the Women’s Champion.
According to a recent report by PWInsider, the Monroe will make her first SmackDown appearance by the end of May.
Since we’ve been asked about her quite a bit, the expectation is that Blake Monroe would start appearing on Smackdown by the end of the month, but that’s subject to change obviously. [H/T: Ringside News]
The anticipation among fans for The Glamour’s debut is definitely high. With the latest post-WrestleMania roster shake-up, it will be interesting to see who she is paired with in a storyline.
