Ex-WWE Star Passes Out On AEW Dynamite; Jon Moxley Survives A Scare
AEW Dynamite began on an emotional note tonight as one of the lead commentators of the show, Tony Schiavone, kicked off the show by paying a heartfelt tribute to Ted Turner.
The media mogul passed away earlier in the day, and he was remembered in the ring by both Schiavone and WCW Legend Sting, who returned to the show tonight.
Following a 10-bell salute, AEW proceeded with the show, and the first match of the night saw Jon Moxley take on Bang Bang Gang’s Juice Robinson in a Continental Championship Eliminator match.
Jon Moxley was pushed to the limit on AEW Dynamite
Robinson, who spent a few years in WWE as CJ Parker, made a name for himself in NJPW before signing with AEW. He fought it out with the Continental Champion in an attempt to earn a future shot at the title.
The two men went back and forth, trying to take each other out as Robinson took the fight to Moxley. He came close to defeating Mox on multiple occasions, but fell short ultimately.
After putting up a brilliant fight against the leader of the Death Riders, he succumbed to defeat after being trapped in a Bulldog Chokehold. He refused to tap out and passed out as Moxley survived this scare through referee stoppage.
