Ex-WWE Star Makes Major Move After AEW Title Is Relinquished
Despite being only days away from AEW Dynasty, which is set to take place this coming Sunday, live from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, a huge announcement was made regarding the show tonight.
Just an hour before the show went on-air, Kyle Fletcher had announced that he would not be able to carry on as the TNT Champion any longer due to an injury to his meniscus ligament will keep him out of action for a long time.
After he vacated the TNT Championship, Tony Khan didn’t waste any time in announcing a new match for the card, which will crown the new TNT Champion on the show.
Tommaso Ciampa wins a major AEW Dynamite clash tonight
The new champion will be crowned via a Casino Gauntlet match that will be held at Dynasty, and former WWE star, Tommaso Ciampa, went to war with Mascara Dorada for the number one spot.
Ultimately, it was the former WWE Champion who emerged victorious in the match and confirmed his spot in the Gauntlet. Ciampa is a former TNT Champion himself.
He won the title on his very first match in the promotion before dropping it to Kyle Fletcher shortly afterwards. Ciampa now has a golden opportunity to hold the title for a second time in AEW.
