Ex-WWE Star Really Explored Her Sexuality Before Liv Morgan “Romance”

Liv Morgan is currently in a storyline relationship with her on-screen boyfriend, Dominik Mysterio.

Before this, she was once involved in a romantic storyline with ex-WWE star Lana. In late 2019, WWE started a storyline where Morgan and Lana were revealed as lovers who later turned into enemies.

Speaking with Ring The Belle, WWE legend Lana discussed the storyline in depth, revealing that she was excited about her romance with Morgan when she first heard of it. It was because she had already explored her sexuality in her 20s and in college, and she wasn’t uncomfortable playing the role.

So, it was his [Paul Heyman] idea that he wanted the last interjection for it to be, you think the person’s in love with Bobby [Lashley], but then they do a swerve, and it’s Lana. And I loved that. I had, throughout my 20s and in college, I really explored my own sexuality. So, I really identified with that. So, I really immediately was like, ‘Yes, I love this.

Liv Morgan Replaced Sonya Deville As Lana’s Romantic Interest

In the same interview, Lana revealed that WWE initially planned to make Sonya Deville her romantic interest in the storyline, but then they went with Liv Morgan instead.

I didn’t know who it was going to be. They said it could be Daria [Sonya Deville], or it could be Ruby [Riott], or it could be Liv [Morgan]. I was like, ‘All of that is awesome.’ I think they chose not to go with Daria because Daria was on SmackDown in the Mandy Rose story that they were starting with Otis… They originally were thinking of using Daria first.
