Ex-WWE Star Was Told To Cover Up Her Cleavage
Ex-WWE star Scarlett was once told to cover up her cleavage!
Scarlett left WWE in August 2025 alongside her real-life husband, Karrion Kross, after their contracts expired. Kross was provided a new offer following the expiration of his deal. However, when he asked for clarification on the terms, the offer was rescinded within a day. Scarlett, on the other hand, was not even presented with one.
Since leaving WWE, the husband-wife duo has made quite a name for themselves on the independent circuit. In a previous interview, they even claimed that they are doing much better in the indies than they were doing in WWE.
Karrion and Scarlett spent roughly four and a half years in WWE and have often spoken about their respective experiences in different interviews and podcasts. They recently joined D-Von Dudley for an interview on his podcast, where they shared more of their experiences in the Stamford-based promotion.
When asked if working in WWE was what she expected all along, she replied with “a lot of it.” However, her character didn’t sit right with many people backstage.
Ex-WWE Star Scarlett Discusses Backstage Issues With Her On-Screen Persona
Scarlett’s character in WWE was a heel persona with sensual energy, which intimidated a lot of people. At the time, WWE was growing into its Women’s Revolution era, and the female stars were fighting for opportunities and attention, which made a lot of the women uncomfortable because of her portrayal of a “hot chick.”
Some backstage producers also had a similar issue with her and would often tell her to cover up her cleavage before going in front of the audience.
“I think they were pushing the Women’s Revolution in the way they were. And my character was the exact opposite of that. It was a throwback. It was a parody, ‘bring sexy back to wrestling.’ Because all the girls were trying to be serious like the guys. I’m like, ‘No, no. Like, let’s just be a hot chick. Like, bring back bra and panties matches.’ And no one was doing that at the time. No one had their a**es out, everyone was — no one was doing it… and it pi**ed a lot of people off, including women in the business. But it’s funny, because now look where we are.
“It was a great heel character… but it was very much the opposite of what they were pushing. I remember they were like, ‘Women’s Evolution.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, bra and panties match!” So I don’t know, I think that’s probably why.”
“Absolutely… They were originally pitching for me to manage other people before he was signed. So they’re like, ‘No, no, we think we want to go with this instead. We have a different idea.’ I won’t say who, but some of the producers every single time, like before going out there. They’d be like, ‘Can you just, ah, cover up the cleavage? Can you just pull that down?’ I’m like, ‘Okay, this is clearly not what we’re going for right now.’”
