Ex-WWE Champion Takes Out Randy Orton On SmackDown And It’s Not Cody Rhodes
WWE SmackDown tonight picked up from where it left off last week as Randy Orton kicked off the show following his exploits on the blue brand the previous week.
The Viper turned heel on Cody Rhodes a couple of weeks back and cemented his turn last week when he attacked Rhodes’ best friend, Matt Cardona, after luring him in.
He came out to the ring to open tonight’s show and claimed that he is only focused on winning the 15th WWE World Championship of his career and now that he’s hearing voices again, he can’t be blamed for what happens next.
Matt Cardona surprises Randy Orton on WWE SmackDown
Orton, however, was interrupted during his promo as Matt Cardona made his way out. The former Zack Ryder was subject to a brutal attack from Randy last week which resulted in a broken arm.
Cardona had a brance on his left arm and came down to the ring with a microphone in his head, ready to exchange some words with The Viper. Instead, he walked up to Orton and smashed the mic in his head, tumbling the former World Champion out of the ring as officials stopped Cardona from following up on hit actions.
