Ex-WWE Champion Recieved Death Threat After Slapping Naomi

Naomi is currently pregnant with her first child with her husband, Jimmy Uso.

She announced her pregnancy live on the August 18, 2025, edition of WWE Raw. At the time, she revealed she was about seven weeks pregnant and had even competed at SummerSlam while unknowingly pregnant.

Due to the pregnancy, she was forced to relinquish her Women’s World Championship. During her exit promo, she promised to return to reclaim the title. As of January 2026, she is approximately five months into her pregnancy. In December 2025, she revealed that she’s expecting a baby boy.

Fans’ “Scary” Reaction To Sonya Deville Slapping Naomi

In August 2021, Naomi got involved in a feud with ex-WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Sonya Deville. Deville was the assistant to on-screen authority figure Adam Pearce on the SmackDown brand at the time.

The storyline revolved around Deville’s growing annoyance with Naomi’s persistent requests for matches. Fans even saw Deville slapping The Glow in the face.

Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Sonya Deville shared that the angle garnered tons of heat from the fans, revealing that she even got death threats after slapping Naomi.

“The times that it has gotten scary in the past is when people (…) I get death threats a lot, I did [during] the storyline with Naomi. I was in her face, and she couldn’t hit me because I was the authority, and I slapped her and she just had to eat it on the chin. Like it was really, really, really messed up stuff, and I was getting like legitimate death threats.”

Sonya Deville, who now goes by Daria Rae, made her return to the wrestling world. She made her TNA debut on January 15 on Thursday Night Impact!’s AMC debut as the Director of Operations.
