This former WWE star, who was part of the Judgment Day faction, recently spoke about the time he departed the company.

Former WWE star Carlito was a well-recognised mid-carder in the 2000s during the Ruthless Aggression era of WWE. The former United States and Intercontinental Champion, who used to spit chewed apples in the faces of people who didn’t want to be cool, spent his first tenure in WWE from 2003 to 2010.

He then became a part of the World Wrestling Council (WWC), where he currently works, but he did have another stint with WWE between 2021 and 2025 after returning at the Royal Rumble as a babyface. During this run, he was temporarily part of the Judgment Day faction. However, his contract expired, and his storylines were cut short.

Carlito explains in a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet on the latter’s Insight podcast that he wishes that WWE had written him off TV. Here’s an excerpt of the interview with Van Vliet from his website.

Did the WWE release come as a surprise?
“No, because my contract expired.”

But they could have renewed it?
“They could have renewed it, but I never went to them. They never came to me. So we never spoke or anything. I just was ready for whatever. I kind of shot myself in the foot because I signed the shorter deal and the usual. So I guess I bet against myself.”

Could you have been like, I would prefer some more time. Did you sign for a year?
“I signed for two years. They wanted me for three, and I signed for two because I didn’t think it was gonna go as good as it did. So, as I said, I bet against myself, and I would have got an extra year, and then my contract would expire. But ended up losing a year. But that’s all right.”

The Judgment Day Loses A Match On Raw

Judgment Day members Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez went up against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria on the latest episode of Raw.

The match saw multiple interferences from Judgment Day members Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio. But one botched interference from Morgan saw the referee banish her from ringside for a second week in a row, and another failed interference from Dominik Mysterio, who accidentally got hit by teammate Roxanne Perez with his AAA Mega Title belt, saw Bayley roll her up for a win for her team.
