Edge will be back in action on the 18th of August SmackDown.

On SmackDown in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Edge was in town to discuss his upcoming 25th anniversary celebrations which will take place on the 18th of August in Toronto.

The WWE Hall of Famer noted that as part of the celebrations he wanted to compete, and he wanted to compete against a man he’s never had a one-on-one match against, Sheamus. Edge and Sheamus put over their history with each other outside of the ring with The Rated-R Superstar noting Sheamus helped him on his way back to the ring while Sheamus revealed that Edge had given him advice as a young talent back in 2004.

The match was then made giving Edge his first bout in Toronto since defeating Damian Priest in the city back in August 2022 on Raw.

Who else joined Edge on SmackDown?

SmackDown was a big night for a former tag team partner of the Ultimate Opportunist as Rey Mysterio became the unexpected challenger for Austin Theory’s US Championship. Theory took out his original challenger Santos Escobar before their match which led to Mysterio replacing his LWO partner and defeating Theory to become a three-time US Champion.

The Bloodline drama took its latest twist with Jey Uso reacting to what happened at SummerSlam by confronting his brother Jimmy. Jimmy Uso explained why he cost his brother the WWE Universal Title and ended up being taken out with a superkick after Jey had cleared out Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. After the melee, Jey Uso appeared to quit WWE.
