Drew McIntyre’s First Challenger For The WWE Championship Confirmed At SNME
The final match of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event was on everyone’s minds tonight as it had huge implications on the Undisputed WWE Championship picture, with the winner going on to face Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble.
Nick Aldis had announced four qualifying matches for tonight’s match, all of which took place on the same episode of SmackDown, with the winners facing off in a fatal-four-way.
Hometown hero Sami Zayn will take on Randy Orton, Trick Williams, and Damian Priest as they look to become Drew McIntyre’s first challenger for the WWE Championship.
Sami Zayn becomes the number one contender at WWE SNME
Sami Zayn faced the brunt of the attack from all three competitors as all of them looked to take out the hometown favorite. Sami fought back hard and took everyone out whenever he could.
Randy Orton cleared the field as he hit a backbreaker on the announcer’s table on all competitors in the match, before almost getting that win with an RKO to Zayn. Trick looked to take advantage of the situation.
He threw Randy out of the ring and looked to pin Sami before Priest broke up the attempt. Orton would then hit a double DDT on Trick and Priest, before the Archer took Orton out with a South of Heaven.

Trick looked to hit the Trick Shot on Damian, but was caught by Sami Zayn, who headed for the Helluva kick but missed as Williams moved out at the end.
Priest and Trick were brawling in the corner of the ring when Trick was hit by Priest, who was caught with a Helluva Kick from nowhere, allowing Sami to pin Priest for the win. He was jumped by Drew, but he had the WWE Champion scouted and evaded his attack well enough.
