Drew McIntyre Reacts To Being WWE Champion At Same Time As CM Punk

Drew McIntyre With WWE Title

Drew McIntyre is at the top of the mountain in WWE alongside CM Punk

Drew McIntyre, who had a string of title match losses over the past two years, was being supported by the WWE Universe to have another title reign. Fans of McIntyre’s had their wish fulfilled when Drew won the belt in a Three Stages of Hell match on SmackDown two weeks ago by defeating his arch-nemesis, Cody Rhodes.

The moment came at a favourable time for The Scottish Warrior as WWE embarked on a European tour, staging Raw and SmackDown across Europe over the past month. McIntyre got to celebrate his win in his home country of Scotland in front of his fans at a WWE live event there the night after he won the title.

McIntyre is currently the one to beat on SmackDown, and in a recent interview, he shared his thoughts on being WWE Champion at the same time that CM Punk is World Heavyweight Champion on Raw.

Drew McIntyre Comments On His WWE Title And CM Punk

For the better part of 2024, Drew McIntyre and CM Punk were at odds, and their feud culminated when Punk defeated McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell match at the Bad Blood Premium Live Event (PLE).

In a recent interview with the popular UK newspaper The Sun, McIntyre made it clear which of the two top WWE titles is better.

I don’t care what’s going on over on Raw. I don’t care what’s going on in his life. Good for him, he won the second-best title. Second-best champion.

Anybody who has titles, this is the number one belt. I used to have it; it’s the one with all the lineage. So anybody else who has any other title, it doesn’t mean jack compared to this. As long as I’ve got this title, it means one thing, I’m the best in the world.

McIntyre, despite being a heel, is over with the fans who can’t wait to see what’s in store for the Scottish Warrior in the months leading up to WrestleMania 42.
