Double Dog Collar Match Added To ROH Final Battle

ROH

ROH’s last PPV of the calendar year has just gotten more interesting.

Many fans are excited to see Briscoes vs. FTR III after the two teams already put on two widely-praised Match of the Year Contender-level matches earlier. Their first match was a straight tag match and their second one was a two-out-three-falls match.

But now, ROH has upped the ante further by making their third match together a Double Dog Collar match.

This will be the third Dog Collar match involving ROH/AEW talent since 2020. The first one was Cody wrestle Brodie Lee (in Lee’s last match before his untimely passing). The second one was between CM Punk and MJF at AEW Revolution 2022.

Dog Collar matches are known for being much more violent, bloody, and brawling-focused. Both of the two above-mentioned prior matches were among the bloodiest matches in AEW history.

ROH Final Battle takes place this Saturday, December 10th, the same day as WWE NXT Deadline. Seven matches have been announced for Final Battle, with all but one of them being title matches.

FTR will only be defending their ROH World Tag Team Championships against the Briscoes. They will not be defending their other two sets of tag title belts (AAA’s World Tag titles and New Japan’s IWGP Tag Team titles), especially since they are expected to defend the latter set at New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 event on January 4th.
